23/07/1878 - 24/10/1957Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany, more commonly known as Lord Dunsany, was an Irish writer and dramatist, notable for his work in fantasy. He was influential upon modern fantasy writers including J. R. R. Tolkien. His writing style often employed an archaic language and drew heavily upon both Irish mythology and the Bible for his themes.Irlanda
