William Wells Brown
05/11/1814 - 05/11/1884William Wells Brown was an African-American abolitionist lecturer, novelist, playwright, and historian. Born into slavery in the Southern United States, Brown escaped to the North. His novel 'Clotel' (1853) is considered the first novel by an African American.Shtetet e Bashkuara
