Olaudah Equiano
01/01/1745 - 30/03/1797Olaudah Equiano was a prominent African involved in the British movement for the abolition of the slave trade. He was enslaved as a child in his home town of Essaka in what is now southern Nigeria. After making it to London, he purchased his freedom and began to work as an author, merchant, and explorer.Nigeria
