We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller.

Some people ask: 'Why the word feminist? Why not just say you are a believer in human rights, or something like that?' Because that would be dishonest.

Feminist: a person who believes in the social, political and economic equality of the sexes.

Because I am female, I am expected to aspire to marriage.

What if, in raising children, we focus on ability instead of gender?

Masculinity is a hard, small cage, and we put boys inside this cage.

Feminism does not mean we want to be men. It means we want to be treated as equals.
