14/02/1945 - Douglas Richard Hofstadter is an American scholar of cognition, consciousness, and artificial intelligence. He is best known for his book 'Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid' for which he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction. He is a College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of Cognitive Science at Indiana University.United States
