Daron Acemoğlu

02/09/1967 - Daron Acemoğlu is a Turkish-born American economist who is currently the Elizabeth and James Killian Professor of Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Known for his work on political economy, he was awarded the John Bates Clark Medal in 2005. He is also the co-author of 'Why Nations Fail', which examines the role that economic and political institutions play in economic development.
