John E. Douglas is a former special agent of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where he worked in the division of criminal profiling. He is one of the pioneers of criminal profiling and the model for the character Jack Crawford in the movie The Silence of the Lambs. He has authored several books on criminality and profiling, including Mindhunter, which was adapted into a Netflix series.United States
